Politiet i den vesttyske by Essen har lørdag lukket et stort indkøbscenter, efter man havde modtaget trusler om et terrorangreb.

Det er indkøbscentret Limbecker Platz i det centrale Essen, der lørdag står øde hen.

»Den foreløbige efterforskning tyder på, at truslen kun er relateret til indkøbscentret,« har politiet ifølge NBC News meddelt.

Ifølge flere tyske og internationale medier begrundede politiet lukningen med, at der var »konkrete indikationer på et muligt angreb«.

Limbecker Platz vil holde lukket resten af lørdagen, skriver centret på sin Facebook-side:

Ifølge tyske medier er indkøbscentret med 70.000 kvadratmeter og 200 butikker et af Tysklands største.
